Your 10-character confirmation code will be sent by email from the Journal of Emerging Investigators to the email that was entered in Stripe when the submission fee was paid. If you do not see it in your inbox, we recommend looking in your spam/junk folder. You will receive a separate email from our payment system, Stripe, with an 8-digit Receipt ID; note this is NOT the code you should enter on your submission.
Each submission costs us well over $100 in technology and staff time. This includes managing your manuscript, providing a DOI number (upon publishing), and storing your submission in our online management system. To help offset the cost of submission and publication, we charge an up front $49 fee for each submission. Unlike other journals where submission is free but followed by steep publication or expediting fees, we charge one, low fee at the very beginning.
Absolutely! Generous donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations play a huge part in providing these scholarships for students in need. If you’d like to learn more and help out, visit our giving page.
Once you have redeemed your code for a submission on our platform, you may not reuse your code for any other submission. This includes if you delete your submission in the platform (accidentally or intentionally) and resubmit as a new manuscript. Please note we never recommend deleting a submission in our platform if you are intending on revising and resubmitting at a later date.
All submission fee payments are nonrefundable. Remember that paying the submission fee does not guarantee your manuscript will be published. If your manuscript does not meet our journal’s requirements and is declined to move forward at any point in the review or publication process, you will not be eligible for a refund.
Using a fake submission fee code is a serious breach of publication ethics and may result in disciplinary action, including withdrawal or being banned from JEI and all affiliates. If you are not sure of your code or have questions about it, please contact us before you submit.
No; out of fairness and equal access to all of our student authors, we do not offer expedited review for any reason.
