In this study, the authors investigate the effect of disorganization and messiness on high school students' ability to perform well on a standardized test.
Read More...Survey of medication disposal: Patient views and awareness
The authors investigate how improper disposal of medication can be mitigated through community education efforts.

Reinforcement learning in 2-D space with varying gravitational fields
In this study the authors looked at the ability to navigate planes in space between randomly placed planets. They used machine and reinforcement learning to run simulations and found that they were able to identify optimal paths for travel. In the future these techniques may allow for safer travel in unknown spaces.

Here, the authors recognized the tendency of bacteria to form biofilms, where this behavior offers protection against threats such as antibiotics. To investigate this, they observed the effects of sublethal exposure of the antibiotic ampicillin on E. coli biofilm formation with an optical density crystal violet assay. They found that exposure to ampicillin resulted in the favored formation of biofilms over time, as free-floating bacteria were eradicated.
