Dr. Peter Chahales received his BA in General Biology from Clark University, and his PhD in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology from Stony Brook University. During graduate school, he developed a small molecule anti-infective to treat urinary tract infections. After obtaining his PhD, he performed a very short post-doctoral fellowship before transitioning out of academia and into industry. Dr. Chahales joined Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in 2016, where he worked on anti-bacterial therapeutic antibodies in their Infectious Diseases Therapeutic Focus Area. Currently, he is a Scientist in the Viral Vectors Technologies (VVT) group, where he oversees several of Regeneron’s gene therapy technology development programs.
