Recognizing the increasing threat of acid deposition inn soil through the reaction of NOx and SO₂ pollutants with water in Spain, the authors investigates the effects of Al(NO₃)₃ concentrations on the health of Allium sativum. By tracking its mitotic index, they found a negative exponential correlation between Al(NO₃)₃ concentrations and the mitotic index of A. sativum.

A common form of Acne is caused by a species of bacterium called Cutibacterium acnes. By using a predictive algorithm and structural analysis, the authors identified 5 small molecules with high affinity to growth factors in Catibacterium acnes. This has potential implications for supplemental skincare products.

Duckweed plays an important role in its aquatic environment by removing pollutants, such as zinc, from the water. In this study, the authors demonstrate that uptake of zinc by duckweed is inhibited by the presence of oil in the water, but this effect can be reversed with the addition of a dispersing agent.
